We are hiring a Field Application Scientist!
A Field Application Scientist bridges research and business. You will meet with scientists, collaborate in their research, and support them with their experiments. At the same time you will gain experience in the business world, specifically in sales and marketing. A Field Application Scientist is someone with an aptitude for science and technology who holds an interest in helping scientists achieve ground-breaking research.
BACKGROUND: IonOptix is a leading scientific instrument manufacturer with products in prominent cardiac physiology research laboratories worldwide. As a small, employee-owned and operated company, we pride ourselves in our transparent operations, including open-book management. We are seeking a candidate in the Amsterdam, NL area to serve as primary sales and support contact for IonOptix prospects and customers.This is an independent contributor role, responsible for handling sales inquiries as well as supporting existing and new customers in the assigned territory (western Europe) with occasional travel to other regions and countries.
CORE ACTIVITIES: Based at our office at the VU university campus in Amsterdam, NL, you will travel extensively (~40%) to meet customers in order to demonstrate, install, train, and provide both technical and scientific support for our product range. You will exhibit our products at academic meetings/conferences and will need to quickly develop a technical understanding of our product range and supported research applications. You will also be expected to carry out numerous duties to help support our sales goals and customer needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS: You will have a university degree in a life science discipline, biomedical engineering, applied physics, or a related area. A postgraduate degree is not essential. You will have a general interest in technology, enjoy challenges, and be organized, self-motivated, and friendly. Sales experience is not essential as full training will be given.
SALARY: Annual salary rate starts at €30,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
